Two screen-entities face one another in a loop of scanning, classification, misrecognition and collapse.
Using the artist’s own face as its core dataset, Gh0st in the L00p moves through cyberbaroque masks, e-girl protocols, tactical markings and synthetic personas. The face becomes an operational surface shaped by biometric surveillance, platform extraction, military AI and internet-native image culture.
The project takes as one starting point Sam Biddle’s reporting on the Pentagon’s interest in AI-generated online personas. It follows a contradiction: infrastructures that demand legible, identifiable faces also manufacture fake users and synthetic identities. The agents scan the same unstable reality that these systems keep producing, until recognition folds into misrecognition.
A pre-rendered dual-channel simulation combines a custom Python rendering system with scanning overlays, terminal logs and scripted voice dialogue. Sound and sculptural hardware give this self-consuming loop a physical presence.
